Plex Media Player is a media center utility developed to work with any Plex server and currently requires an active Plex Pass Subscription. By using a Plex server, you can both backup your movies and access them from a remote location via a web browser. Once everything is set, within the Plex Media Player main window you get to access and preview the multimedia content stored on the server, including movies, home videos, music, and photos. You can also make use of your playlists or choose to watch specific channels.

Plex can play a wide range of video, audio and photo formats without having to install any third party video plugins and can stream online audio and video content served by Plex Media Server. The Plex Media Player app is a media center features intuitive controls, and some of the embedded functions can be easily personalized to match the user preferences.
