Duke Nukem 3D 1.0
GameFabrique
In what has become an all but forgotten series, Duke Nukem started with a strange game like many other series. It was a 2d platformer in which ytou played as duke in a guess what, 2d environment, but after awhile, a new revolution was released. after the world experienced early shooters like Doom, Wolfenstiend 3d, blake stone, etc., the world was ready for a new look, a new game, a new series, this is where the incredible master piece, Duke Nukem 3d comes in.
Aliens have landed in futuristic Los Angeles, and it's up to Duke to bring the pain and show them the door. It's time to start kicking ass and chewing gum – and he's all out of gum!
The stages in the game all follow the same formula – find different color access cards to finish the level while killing whatever is in your way. Finding the access cards is a pretty straight forward process – most can be found fairly easily. Sometimes they can be well hidden, but just think about it for a few seconds and you will usually find them.
Romp through the alien infested city of Los Angeles. Duke Nukem returns from a little vacation to save the City of Angels and destroy the aliens in this lead-packing sequel! With powerful weapons, more of the trademark Duke humor, and a soundtrack with bands such as Megadeath, this is one pistol packin' adventure that's high in testosterone and short on charm.
The graphics in Duke Nukem 3D were great at the time. It offered Hi-Res modes and the like, and the game ran pretty smoothly on its minimum requirements. The sound was great as well. The weapons sounded like what they were supposed to sound like, but what made the sounds really stand out were the “Dukisms.” These were sayings Duke would say after blowing an aliens head off (we'll get to this later). The gameplay is pure Doom except when you shoot the strippers (we'll talk about these too), aliens spawn around you. So, you're not necessarily supposed to shoot everything in sight, but most of it. The levels are cleverly designed levels based on city areas and space shuttles. This is a nice break from the pointless mazes and dungeons found in Doom and Quake.
Duke Nukem 3D Includes:
* Powerful weapons.
* Destroy aliens.
* Trademark Duke humor.
* Soundtrack with bands such as Megadeath.
Duke Nukem 3D still looks good to this day. All the levels In this game are extremely detailed, and you can tell they put a lot of time and effort into the games graphics. Very nice job, the enemies are very detailed. The music In this game fits In very nicely. The sound effects that come from your weapons, example: the shotgun sound's like well.. what a shotgun should sound like. The whole game just looks good!
The game allows full 3D movement. You can swim and jetpack your way through levels. Levels also contain earthquakes, collapsing buildings, and subways. When you shoot aliens, blood will splat on the walls. If you shoot them with gernade launchers, their body parts will come flying off. Duke can also shoot bottles, break vending machienes.
