This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Rapid Storage Technology is designed to provide functionality for the Intel Storage Controllers. The driver improves Serial ATA (SATA) disk performance with Native Command Queuing.

Fixes:

- Fixes an issue which causes a blue screen event to occur or causes the computer to stop functioning (hard lock) after the system is undocked while the lid is closed.
- Fixes an issue which causes the Rapid Storage user interface to stop functioning when the Manage option is selected.
- Fixes an issue which causes the system to stop functioning (hang) when the system is powered on after the Rapid Storage driver is installed.

Installation steps (for exe / zip):

1. Save the driver files to your computer.
2. Run the executable or extract the installation files to a location on your disk.
3. Follow the steps displayed by the setup wizard.
4. After installation, restart the computer.

Important notes:

- Before installation, save all your work and close all the running programs, as the installation may interfere with other apps;
- If the setup wizard requests Administrative rights, make sure to run the setup as Administrator;
- Pay attention to all installation instructions to make sure the driver is installed correctly;

About RST (Rapid Storage Technology) Driver:

Once Intel’s Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver is applied, desktop and notebook systems will be able to manage the available storage (one or more drives) more easily.

And that’s not all you should expect: updating the RST version can also bring about improved storage performance, lower power consumption, faster boot times, quicker data reads, as well as several other changes.

As far as applying this release is concerned, simply make sure your system configuration is compatible with this package, run the available setup, and follow the on-screen instructions for a complete installation. In addition to that, don’t forget to perform a reboot to make sure that all changes take effect properly.

Even though other operating systems might be compatible as well, we do not recommend installing this package on platforms other than the specified ones.
