I had the same problem as you described .And finaly when I've updated my mplayer.exe , everything works now and my CPU dropped to 1%.

Review: Out of the box, the software works pretty good. After a while I did notice that the processor was running very high on mencoder.exe. I went online and downloaded the newer version (look at the dates of uploads, as the one with pseplayer is ver.90 and so is the new one, however, it was the updated file was 3mb larger and 8 months newer. I backed up the existing mplayer and mencoder files and copied the exe's over. Played the files, and it worked like a charm. Processor dropped to 5% and the stream was unaffected.
