Creating compilations with music or video files that can be then burned onto an optical disk is much easier to do when a dedicated software is used. The hugely popular suite provided by Nero has loads of advantages, one of which being the proprietary format NRG.

However, if you are using a different software for disc burning, chances are that it will not read that type of image files. If this is the case, you can try a proven solution that will turn on the spot NRG compilations into the common ISO format, that is widely supported.

The software in question is called nrg2iso and it carries in a very small package everything you would need to get the job done in the shortest time possible and with minimal efforts.

Once the application is installed, you will surely notice the simpleness of the interface. All the commands are huddled together in a rather small window and there are no configuration options in sight.

Operating nrg2iso is as easy as it gets, simply select an NRG file and press the 'Convert' button. The application will then create the ISO disc image automatically and place it in the same directory as the source file.

If you want to compare sizes of the input and output files, you will be glad to see that, upon conversion completion, nrg2iso pops up a small window that displays the number of data bytes that were written, so you can liken that to the dimension of the original NRG.
